Hi friends!

I first shared these Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs almost 4 years ago and they’re still one of my go-to crockpot meals. When I first made this recipe, it got the seal of approval from hubby and Squish and then I made it for my parents and my mom asked for the recipe because my dad loved it so much. I passed it on to several friends before I even put it on the blog and continue to share it regularly. My daughter loves it because carrots and sweet potatoes are her favorite.

This has also become my go-to recipe to deliver to new moms or friends who have had surgery, have a sick kid etc. You can easily throw everything in a ziploc bag and deliver it and then they can either dump it in the crockpot to make it immediately or stick it in the freezer for later.

This recipe uses chicken thighs. You could make it with chicken breasts, but I’d highly encourage you to try it with thighs. They do so well in the slow cooker, never drying out like chicken breasts are sometimes prone to do.

If you want to prep this ahead of time, just put it all in a ziploc bag and freeze, then thaw the night before and throw in the crockpot before work. Or prep in the crockpot itself the night before to make the morning easier!

Pretty simple right? If you aren’t a fan of carrots or sweet potatoes you could probably swap in another veggie, just be aware that some veggies get a bit mushy in the slow cooker. I like carrots and sweet potatoes because they hold their shape well. This could also be made in the instant pot. Or you can this recipe which is very similar: Instant Pot Asian Chicken.

I hope you guys love this recipe as much as we do! I usually serve it with rice but you could easily change it up and serve this in tacos or even over a salad!

Enjoy!

I was just thinking of looking for more slow cooker recipes because our Wednesday nights are about to get busier. We are going to need a quick meal after work/school and before it’s time to shuttle to sports. This is great. Pinning!

Already a big fan of your loaded sweet potatoes in the slow cooker, I know I’ll love this recipe too. Love that there are just a few ingredients to throw in… My style of cooking. And if Squish loved it, well, what’s not to love about it?!

Does anyone know a good substitute for the ketchup? I don’t like anything vinegar based.

I made this yesterday and it was really good. Even my 2 year old who doesn’t eat much meat gobbled it up. It made great leftovers for lunch with some quinoa. Thanks for the easy recipe!

Can’t wait to finally try this recipe! Any idea how to convert to a dutch oven at 325 or 350 degrees in the oven? My slow cooker is small and I haven’t upgraded since having two little hungry boys. 🙂

I’d maybe try 325 for 3 hours or so and then check the temp of the chicken!

This was delicious. Whole family enjoyed it with a side of rice or couscous. I sprinkled some coriander on top for garnish and used tomato passata instead of ketchup as that’s all I had. Will definitely be making this again.
