Hi Friends!
This recipe has been a long time coming. I finally got my act together so that I could share the best tuna salad recipe with you. It’s one of my staple lunch/dinner/snacks and many of you have asked for the recipe!
Tuna Salad with Avocado
A few things you should note. I measured the ingredients because I know people will ask, but this is not an exact science. I don’t usually measure when I make it. You can easily add in more ingredients or leave some out and it will still taste just fine! You could also make this with canned chicken. Also, it’s impossible to make tuna salad look visually appealing.
Tuna Salad with Avocado
Dress this lunch staple up or keep it simple, either way this recipe is great when you need a healthy meal in a snap.

- Total Time: 5 minutes

- 1–2 tsp curry powder

Obviously I don’t do tuna, but looking at the ingredients, I bet this could stand alone without the fish!
Oh yum! Well, I don’t actually like tuna, but I was imagining replacing this with shredded chicken, and I’m pretty sure that would be just as amazing!
it’s definitely just as good!
This looks fantastic! I’ve only made a simple version of tuna, avocado, and dijon. This will be next on my list to try!
This looks so good!! I have made tuna salad with avocado, but adding hummus all of the seasonings and hard boiled egg would be DELICIOUS!! 🙂 I am definitely making this soon 🙂
yay! let me know what you think!
i love tuna salad, but itz definitely something i don’t make enough. the addition of the spices you chose sound good – i’ll need to try this one!
This looks delicious! Well not really, but it SOUNDS delicious. My boyfriend and I were just talking about finding a good tuna salad recipe without mayo last night, so thanks!

I always forget to make Tuna salad, but love it when I do! Love your twist on it 🙂
This recipe looks so good! I love the combination of lots of ingredients, hummus, avocado, salsa? Mmm! Talk about a beefed up tuna salad recipe!

I love that you add hummus to everything. Tuna got old while training, but I think I’m ok with it again. I ate my emergency packet in the airport yesterday!
i can only imagine how sick i would get of it if i had to eat it all the time!
I do love tuna salad but really gave it up for the most part b/c of mayo. Now I can try this!
yay! hope you like it!
I just discovered tuna salad with avocado last month! It’s so amazing. I keep mine simple and just do tuna + mashed avocado + salt + pepper. But I’ll have to try adding hummus and spices sometime.
isn’t it the best?! so creamy.
This recipe gives a while new meaning to Tuna Salad!! 😀

I love using avocado in my egg and tuna salads – so good! The other day I made a tuna salad with some homemade pesto and it was AMAZING! I wanted the tuna salad to be a bit on the “dry” side to toss in a salad and it was so good!
Yum! I LOVE tuna salad! I love it on toast, as a sandwich, and with crackers!
I LOVE tuna! I just made some last night with Greek yogurt and hummus stuffed in romaine lettuce leaves. I was thinking about posting them but like you, I never measure the amounts 🙂
I typically mince/dice carrot, bell pepper, and red onion, sometimes olives, with plain Greek yogurt and mustard! Never thought to put quinoa in it, but that’s a great idea!
I’ve never made my own tuna salad before, but I love that your recipe has no mayo in it! (that’s always a big turn-off for me) It’s on our meal plan for tomorrow night!
I do not eat tuna, but I love the idea of adding avocado to an egg salad. I will definitely be giving that a try!
This is such a wonderful recipe, definitely pinning it for menu planning later 🙂
Wow, this looks super simple but delicious. Will being trying this one out. Thanks!
What a great combination of flavors!! I’ve never even thought about using hummus in tuna salad. Tuna/chicken salad is my go-to. I have like 5 billion versions, but it’s just the perfect, simple and healthy lunch!
Oh – I love tuna and I’ve seen several recipes combining tuna and avocado lately. Definitely need to try your recipe – thanks for sharing it!
YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I usually add, low sodium salsa, garlic powder, spirulina, hot/sweet mustard.. OR my homemade guac which has all of the previous ingredients in it! 🙂
I posted avocado tuna salad lettuce wraps once and I totally agree with you…there is no way to make tuna salad (especially green tuna salad) look beautiful! So delicious, though!
This looks selfish!! I can’t wait to make it for lunch this week!! Yum!
I’ve just gotten into tuna salad and add in lots of celery and carrot. A recipe I got from Julie at Peanut Butter Fingers.
I will have to give your recipe a try as it looks incredible 🙂 glad you finally shared it.
omg I NEED to try this! I usually just eat canned tuna on mixed greens for lunch but I feel like I can make a big batch of this and it’d be delicious on a salad. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
everything is better with avocado. what an awesome idea!
This looks and sounds fantastic! I love this 🙂
