Looking for easy Halloween snacks for your next party? Pick your favorites and use them to make the ultimate Halloween snack tray.
Hi friends!
Last year I shared this epic Halloween snack tray on Instagram and it was a big hit so I’m giving it a permanent place on the blog so everyone can enjoy these ideas year after year!
Halloween is such a fun holiday and my kids have been especially excited about it the past few years so I’ve been looking for ways to celebrate beyond just wearing their costumes to go trick-or-treating.
When they were younger we were big into arts and crafts. There are so many fun Halloween craft ideas out there.
Here are a few we loved:
- Make a cardboard skeleton. Using a skeleton picture for reference, draw the bones on cardboard, cut them out, paint them and then glue together for a fun skeleton to hang on your door! If you’re looking for something a little smaller scale, these cardboard tube dancing skeletons are cute! Or try these zombie and skeleton handprints.
- Make a DIY Mummy door. Wrap the door with streamers and then tape on some giant eyeballs!
- Draw a picture – We love Art for Kids Hub and they have a whole archive of Halloween drawing videos. The zombie is our favorite.
- Pose a skeleton – Buy a 5-foot skeleton and put someone in charge of moving it around the house each day and putting it in different positions. Here are 19 ways to pose a skeleton.
Last year I started getting a little more creative in the kitchen and tried out a bunch of ideas for cute and easy Halloween snacks.
Then one day I put them all together to make a fun and spooky Halloween snack tray and everyone loved it. This would be perfect for a Halloween party or a pre-trick or treat gathering with friends or neighbors.
Here are some of my favorite Halloween snacks:
Easy Halloween Snacks for a Classroom Party
Frankenstein Rice Krispy Treats
These are so festive and super easy to make. Follow the normal Rice Krispy Treats recipe but mix some green food coloring in after the marshmallows are melted, before you add the cereal.
Once cooled, cut into rectangles. Dip the top in melted chocolate for the hair, then add candy eyeballs (aff link) and use chocolate icing to make faces, eyebrows, scars etc. For the bolts I stick toothpicks into the sides and add a mini marshmallow.

Ideas for Halloween Snacks with Oreos
Oreo Spiders
Grab a package of double stuff Oreos and some pretzel sticks. Be sure to use double stuff Oreos or the cream layer won’t be thick enough for the pretzels to stick in. Carefully twist the top of the Oreo to loosen it and give you more room. Break the pretzel sticks to whatever length you want the legs to be, then carefully stick them into the Oreo.
Use a dot of icing to add candy eyeballs and voila!

Children’s Halloween Snacks
Mummy Hot Dogs
If your kiddos love hot dogs, these are a fun way to change it up for Halloween. Here’s how to make mummy hot dogs. Use candy eyes or dots of mustard for the eyes.
Healthy Halloween Snacks
Clementine pumpkins and ghost string cheese
These are great for class parties! You can use a Sharpie to draw right on the clementine peels and cheese stick wrappers. These Cheese Broomsticks are also super cute!
If you’re having trouble getting Sharpie to write on the clementines, you can just add a little green stem and voila! You have a pumpkin. I used some leftover edges from the Frankenstein rice krispy treats but a small piece of cucumber or celery would also work. You can secure them with a toothpick or a dot of icing or melted chocoate. Or draw faces onto fruit cups of peaches or mandarin oranges.
Or take the extra step and peel the clementines ahead of time before adding a stem!
Easy Halloween Snacks with Fruit
Strawberry ghosts
Who doesn’t love a chocolate dipped strawberry? I used white chocolate to make them look like little ghosts. I use these Ghiradelli White Chocolate Melting Wafers (aff link) and melt them in the microwave on the defrost setting.
I find it’s easiest to dip them and let the white chocolate set, since it hardens quickly and then use a little dot of it to stick on mini chocolate chips for the eyes. You can use another mini chip for the mouth or melt some chocolate chips and put them in a ziploc bag, then cut the corner and make bigger wide open mouths.
After I was done I noticed that the strawberries that were round on top and pointy on the bottom actually looked a bit like skeleton heads!
DIY Halloween Snacks
Ghost and mummy pretzels
These are so fun to look and and easy to make. Just grab your white chocolate, some candy eyeballs and a bag of pretzel twists.
Dip some completely in the melted white chocolate for the ghosts. Then using a spoon, drizzle melted chocolate over the rest and add eyeballs to make mummies!
Pumpkin yogurt dip
Use my super easy recipe for pumpkin yogurt dip and add a yogurt spider web on top to make it festive! You could also mix 1/4 cup pumpkin into my Cream Cheese Fruit Dip if you prefer!
To make the spiderweb I put the yogurt into a ziploc bag and cut off the tip. Then draw the straight lines first and connect with curved lines.
To make the cinnamon and sugar tortilla chips, cut tortillas into triangles. Brush with melted butter or spray with oil, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.
