Hi Friends!
Time for another Fitness Friday. Let’s recap, shall we?

Friday

This workout killed me. I deadlifted 135# which is a 20# PR but it was HARD. And I was tired. Plus wall walks and I don’t get a long. Like for real. They kill me. And this time they killed my hip flexor. If you don’t know what a wall walk is, you lay on the ground on your stomach with your feet touching the wall. Then you literally walk your feet up the wall, and then walk your hands in towards the wall. They’re impossibly hard. Ugh. My time was 9:33.
Saturday

Saturday morning, 8am. Open gym! I worked on back squats and handstands. I squatted 135#!

And I made hubby take a picture of my handstand! Next step is working on getting the arch out of my back. I’m working on getting my hands closer to the wall but it’s hard for me!

Saturday, 9am: WOD time. It was about 60 degrees here last Saturday so we took advantage and did a benchmark workout. Meet Helen. She sucks. I did my kb swings with a 35# kb and did jumping pullups. Time- 10:30.

Since it was so nice out, we also took the boys for a walk. Now it’s cold again. Booooo.
Sunday
AMRAP- As Much Rest As Possible.
We took it seriously. We didn’t even leave the house.
Monday

I had to modify the handstand pushups and did jumping pullings but did the squats Rx. Time 6:16
Tuesday

Long day…I interned, and had class, but I still made a workout happen. I raced to crossfit after I got out of class. I missed the skill/strength part, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to go on Wednesday so I wanted to get a workout in.

I struggled with this one because it hurt my wrists. I can overhead squat 70 pounds…but not without REALLY feeling it in my wrists. For the workout I opted for 50# and finished in 6:23. The good news is that I ordered some wrist wraps and they came in the mail on Wednesday. Can’t wait to start using them!
Wednesday
Forced rest day. I had an evening program for school that I had to go to, which made for a 14 hour day.
Seemed like a good day for a rest day.
Thursday

This workout was tougher than it sounded. Probably because we did a pretty intense workout and then a fast- strength session where we determined our one rep max for power cleans. Mine was 100 pounds. Pretty impressed with myself! For the wod i did banded ring dips (but i used the skinniest band!) and finished in 6:28.
That’s all, friends! I’m happy it’s friday. Friday means Friday night fun at crossfit and then a date with hubby to make dinner and watch Dateline. Yes, this is what our friday nights have turned into and i love it!
Let’s Chat: How were your workouts this week? Any plans for the weekend?
Enjoy!

You are rockin’ the CrossFit! I had to reast a little… damn flu… but I got a good walk in today and did the P90x Plyo DVD. Game on! 🙂
impressive handstand! and way to push through w/ur workouts even when it seems like there’s no time! #noexcuses 🙂
Handstands are my nemesis! Looking good!
Now I want to know how well I can do a handstand 🙂 Your post makes me want to go workout now instead of waiting for the sun to come up to run!
My workouts have been light this week due to my knee acting up – but I’m finally feeling *almost* normal again and I’m so ready to kill it next week!
I’m so impressed with anyone who can do a handstand! I know lots of it is mental, but I just feel like I can never get there. Great week of workouts!
Girl, you workout hard! I really enjoy reading through your Friday posts so I can see all the workouts in one place. It’s really reader-friendly.
You would appreciate this Lindsay, I’ve been sick for the past two days and the WORST part about it was that I couldn’t workout! Seriously. I typically workout through a cold, but this was a stomach bug, so I couldn’t, and it was AWFUL! Can’t wait to get back into it. I needed this post for motivation!
Handstand pix are the greatest! They are always so awesome!!
You are a rock star!! Awesome job with your WODs and your handstand! That’s awesome. I can’t do a handstand and wall walks sound brutal! My workouts have been pretty light lately. I haven’t been feeling much like pushing myself but a little something is better than nothing, right?
Amazing post – so inspiring!! Off to the gym!
yeah.
you had me at your long day and no excuses….
I HEEEEED YOU 🙂
I love that you have dived into CrossFit- it’s so inspiring! Great hand stand, too. It will be fun to watch your progress… you’ll nail it soon. Have a great Friday, enjoy your at home date night, those are some of my favorite, too!
I am so impressed and inspired by all of you ladies who regularly do crossfit. I don’t think I could last even one workout! Way to go!
Wow! Nice week! I was pooped by Wednesday’s workout. 🙂 I’m so jealous of your outdoor walks. It’s 20 here. 😉
You rock that freaking handstand lady! It’s one of my goals this year to be able to get the handstand. I better start practicing if I’m going to get there. 😉
Great breakdown of the workouts!
Now if only I could flip upside down too 🙂
Amazing way to conquer those workouts this week!!! Even when you had the longest days, you still rocked it! This weekend calls for 10 miles for me and then a birthday dinner sans kids!!! I can’t wait!
Awesome workouts girl!
crossfit definitely keeps me busy too! I stink at headstand push ups! Yesterday we did burpee pull ups, what a workout!
You go girl with that handstand!! I’m jealous! Happy Friday!
Looks like an awesome workout week! I love the pic of the puppy 🙂
Lindsay! You are getting SO strong. Gah, crossfit intimidates me so darn much. I need to just get over my preconceptions and try a class out.
6 1/2 mile run; at-home workout; 2 hot yoga classes; 1 rest day; couple walks with Miss Kala; and hopefully a long tomorrow after clients. Hoping it isn’t too cold! Handstands are hard and I’m trying to conquer them in yoga. Have a great weekend!
LOVE that you worked out despite the super long day. That is serious motivation =)
I used to love handstands – I focused on pullups/pushups so much that I was able to do handstand pushups. Those days are LONG gone. UGH!
I love how CrossFit workouts look so easy (they’re short, not very complicated in their movements and can fit on a whiteboard), but kill you nearly every time!
I need to try wall walks; haven’t done them before!
I wish I could do a handstand. I dont have the balance or strength but i’m trying to work on both
Holy I am not ever gonna get there! 🙂 I like what I do BUT if I were younger, I would do this or at least try Crossfit. Right now, my goal is to not get injured as I age & I do have feet & other things I need to be careful of.. plus I do love traditional weight lifting BUT I love watching Crossfit!
I’m with on on that goal, Jody, not get injured as I age. Or rather, stay active without aggravating the injuries I have too much and avoid adding new ones. Guess we are in the same demographic.
So impressed with your dedication to fitness during such a busy time–I bet you find that it gives you more energy throughout the day/week! GREAT progress in CrossFit–that’s the beauty of the sport!! Always a chance to get better!! 🙂
Great job on the handstand Lindsay! And, I have to try doing Crossfit. I’ve been adding new things to my workout this week, which I hope will make a difference (I recently added more strength training!)
Wow, Lindsay, you’ve been going great guns on crossfit for what, over a month? I know for experience that in that kind of class I would try too hard and hurt myself. So it’s not for me, but I’m glad it’s working for you! In my skating I recently passed an ice dance test and now have to get going on my freestyle program, competing in March and April!
oooh fun! good luck with the competition!
