Welcome Baby 3!

Hi friends!

He’s here! Please welcome baby Nolan.

Born just one day past his due date last week, he entered the world much more quickly than his brother and sister did 🙂

mom and new baby

My water broke at home at 6am…a nice clear sign it was time to go to the hospital, which I was grateful for because we’d already been to labor and delivery triage twice over the past few weeks based on my contractions and were sent home both times. This time I was admitted to the hospital around 7am. I was 4cm dilated and my water was clearly broken.

At 9:45 I got my epidural. An hour later I was 6cm but the epidural wasn’t working (I had the same problem when Squish was born). I got a redose, which helped and by 11:15 I was 10cm and ready.

I adore my OB and she made a special trip to the hospital to deliver this baby (she also delivered my other two). I pushed thru 4 contractions and Baby Nolan was born at 11:43am.

He was my smallest baby – 7 pounds, 15 ounces and 20 inches long. We spent 2 nights in the hospital and then headed home to embrace our new crazy! The big kids love baby Nolan so much already, although both are sick so we’re trying to get them to keep their distance for now.

Big thanks to my parents and my in-laws for helping with the big kids while we were gone….and feeling very grateful that hubby gets 2 weeks of paternity leave. That coupled with some holiday days off means he’ll pretty much be home through new years which will be such a big help.

Enjoy!

You are amazing Lindsay! Congratulations on the safe arrival of Nolan. But seriously dude… live blogging on Instagram daily with 3 kids, one of which is a week old, give or take a day or two? You have majoy chops, my dear LOL. I take my hat off to you. With my 2nd one I was at wit’s end with her not feeding at all on the breast. Luckily we got a lactation consultant in and got me using a breast pump. But man I was in no shape at all to do regular updates via social media. Anyhow, wishing you the best of continued good luck. Hope the older ones get over their illnesses soon. Take care and big hugs to your entire family.
