Hi Friends!

It’s Friday. I’m so excited for the weekend! We’ll be heading to the Farmer’s Market for the first time this year and hopefully getting some work done in the yard. I have two great workouts to share with you today, but first we have some other things to cover!

First, I’m being featured on Fitness Magazine’s website this week as their “Fit Blogger We Love”! I’m so excited about it! If you want to check out the post, CLICK HERE!

Second, I get to do a REALLY exciting interview in a couple weeks with Ellie Krieger!!! Yes, THE Ellie Krieger. Like from The Food Network! How cool is that?! I love her and have several of her cookbooks in my collection. She’s an RD, a New York Times best-selling author and the host of a TV show called Healthy Appetite. I’ll be interviewing her via phone and webcam so I’ll be able to post the video of the interview for you guys to see!

The best part? I can ask her any questions I want about healthy eating, snacking, nutrition, etc….so here’s your chance! Do you have a question you want me to ask her? Leave it in the comments or email it to me and I’ll do my best to get it answered!

Third, oh…well that’s all for now I guess. I was really getting rollin’ with my list!

Anyways, now we’re back to regularly scheduled programing. It’s Fitness Friday so I have two workouts to share with you guys!

On Monday, I did this workout on the treadmill:

pyramid

I covered 3 miles in the 30 minutes and was a sweaty mess by the end!

On Wednesday I went back and re-did one of my old workouts. I loved it just as much as I did the first time. I upped the speed on my runs to really push myself, and i’m not gonna lie, I almost threw up after the last run. I wanted to decrease the speed SO BADLY for the last 2 runs…but I powered through and I was so proud of myself!

quarter

Holy moly. I was a mess after this one.

Give it a try! Let me know what you think 🙂

Now it’s your turn, friends! Leave me something good for the weekend….a question for Ellie, a fun workout you did this week, some fun weekend plans? Let’s hear it!

Enjoy!

This is probably like a “novice” question but I’m wondering about the effects of dairy on our estrogen levels and how it can help (or interfere) with weight loss. I have read in the past, that cutting out dairy from certain body types (like mine) can be good for weight loss. Is this true? Is it healthy? Do we NEED dairy? Looking forward to hearing from you OR Ellie on this. Thanks! And CONGRATS on the Fitness blog post – you are rockin’ it!!!

    First of all, congratulations!!!!

Secondly, this week I experimented with Tabata training, and I think I am in love! I was very happy to find your Triple Threat Workout from Fitness Friday 16 that included both a cardio machine, Tabata and planks! I did that on my lunch break today, subbing the elliptical for the treadmill because I have an injury that prevents me from running. It was awesome!!!!! Definitely one of the highlights of my workout week! Thanks!

For the weekend, I will be working out and coaching basketball, including having 10 girls from my summer basketball team at my house for a BBQ and sleepover. Should be a great weekend!

Way to go!!! I’m so glad you’re on the Fitness site and that you get to do the interview with Ellie!! I do have a couple of questions for Ellie, if you wouldn’t mind asking:

    1) Some of my friends have read & hyped up the book “Wheat Belly: Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight.” It professes that “wheat is the single largest contributor to the nationwide obesity epidemic.” Is wheat REALLY that bad for a healthy diet?

    2) What are some good road trip snacks to pack?

    3) I’ve been doing a No-Sugar Challenge just for this month, where I haven’t had any added sugars in my food (as well as honey, agave, and stevia). As part of the challenge, I get to eat 3 servings of fruit a day, including one in a nutrient-dense protein smoothie. I still get natural sugars from yogurt and other natural foods. My friends are concerned that eliminating sugar in this manner is unhealthy. They say our bodies need sugar and that depriving my body of it will cause me to function at a lesser level. This doesn’t make sense to me, but I want to ask if that might be true, since I’m not sure and I don’t want to do lasting harm to my body.

Thanks for taking questions and for sharing your workouts!! You’re amazing!

Cool! Lots of good news for your blog, congratulations! The workout I’ve been doing most lately: figure skating (as always). I was skating my freestyle routine a bunch (lots of jumping and spinning) but now that I’ve passed my freestyle test I’m doing a lot of ice dancing with my coach before he leaves town for the summer.
