Special shoutout to our friends Nate and Lianne who got engaged this weekend!! Hubby and I were lucky enough to be there when it happened with a few of our other friends. We were all in on the surprise but she had no idea. It was so cute. If you look closely in the picture above, you can see the ring box behind the drink. SO HAPPY FOR THEM!!!

For all you local, Columbus readers…check out this 5K if you’re looking for a summer race! There’s an awesome dental clinic that provides dental care to children whose families would otherwise not be able to afford it. Kids can receive dental care for just  $10. The clinic, KIDSMILES Pediatric Dental Clinic, is   funded largely by grants and donations but they’ve organized a 5k event to help raise some money for their clinic. If you’re interested, you can sign up here. The race is June 29, 2013 in Dublin, OH.

rest Bean Bytes 31

Two of my favorite bloggers are hosting a fun challenge next week that I thought some of you might be interested in. Here are a few more details:

“Take a rest week.”

How does that make you feel? Anxious? Nervous? Jittery? Constricted? That’s why Heather and Kasey created #RESTWEEK for all of us: a 7-days challenge for us to honor our bodies and our minds – no workout necessary! Heather and Kasey are doing this challenge right along with all of us – to help us shed all of our body image hang-ups one moment at a time.

Heather will be offering some amazing tools that she uses on a daily basis that have totally transformed the way she thinks about her body. Kasey will be dishing out awesome recipes that nourish and naturally cleanse the body. You won’t want to miss out on this. If you decide to commit to it, this challenge WILL transform the way you think about your body! So, what do you say? Let’s do this!

SIGN UP HERE if you’re interested.

Sally, one of my fellow dietetic interns, just recently ran her first half marathon. Isn’t she adorable?

b e1364780204396 Bean Bytes 31

Her boyfriend is currently deployed and she’s been asked to run her first marathon to support a very special cause. She teamed up with Salute, Inc., a non-profit organization that raises money for wounded warriors, veterans, and their families and will be running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon this October to raise money for, and to honor, our nations heroes. If you would like to become involved or make a contribution, you can email her at: rushsml <at> gmail <dot> com or check out the Facebook page: Sally Rush: Salute, Inc. Fundraiser. Thank you!

Whew! Ok, that’s it icon smile Bean Bytes 31 Have  a great day, friends!

It’s a question I’ve been getting recently, since it’s fermented and probably contains glutamate (or does it?!). I posted the question on her blog and hope someone can answer it!
