This fresh homemade cranberry sauce is an easy and delicious way to add some fresh fall flavor to your meals! Make it for Thanksgiving and use the leftovers as a topping for waffles, oatmeal and sandwiches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2/33/4 c sugar
  • 1 bag fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 c white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 c water
  • 1 Tbsp orange peel
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. Combine the sugar, vinegar and water in a saucepan. Heat to a boil, then reduce to simmer and stir until sugar dissolves.
  2. Add cranberries, cinnamon stick and orange peel.
  3. Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until cranberries burst.
  4. Remove from heat and fish out the cinnamon stick and orange peel.
  5. Cool and eat!

Notes

The amount of sugar you use depends on whether you want it more sweet or tart. I like tart so I typically use 2/3 cup.
