Hi Friends!
Time for some more random ramblings.
Long time readers might remember a few of these scenes from last June…hubby had surgery on his left shoulder to repair a torn labrum….Well, next week we’re doing it all over again. Except this time it’s the right shoulder and it’s a torn rotator cuff. His first surgery and recovery did NOT go well…so we’re both a bit apprehensive about this one. (More like- HOLD ME I’M SCARED!) However, the hope is that this one will go more smoothly and he’ll be well into his recovery by the time baby bean comes along. He’ll be in a sling for six weeks again, except this time it’s his dominant arm which makes things more complicated. Anyways, the big day is next Wednesday so please send positive thoughts our way. And meals. And a cleaning lady. And someone to mow our grass 😉 Pregnant wife and recovering hubby is going to make for an interesting combination.
Several of you have asked about my spiralizer. I bought the Paderno Spiralizer from William Sonoma a few months ago and I love it. It’s the only one I’ve ever used so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it’s worked really well for me so far! Plus it’s only $40!
I’ve been looking for a glider for the nursery and I scored a pretty sweet deal on the model above on Craigslist. It’s a Dutailier and it comes with an ottoman, plus it reclines and locks. We’re getting it in like-new condition at about half the price! It’s not my first choice of color, but to me it’s worth it to save the money. Plus, throw a blanket over the back and it can be pretty much any color you want, right?!
My mom got me a Flipbelt for Christmas and after forgetting about it for several months, I’ve been using it on my walks with the dogs lately. I like to take my phone with me and in the winter I just throw it in my coat pocket. Now that it’s warmer, it’s annoying to carry, so I like being able to put it in the flipbelt to keep my hands free. I also started keeping a few dollars in it because last week, I was passed by the ice cream truck twice and had no money to buy a treat! AND there was a lemonade stand that I couldn’t visit! So now I’m prepared.
Ok, I think that’s all for today!
Let’s chat:
Have anything fun planned for the weekend?
Enjoy!

Hope your hubby has a speedy recovery! My plans for the weekend are pretty full, which I am excited for! We have two neighborhood events, a hike, farmer’s market, and going to the beach. Have a great one!

The Paderno spiralizer is AWESOME! I actually made zoodles tonight; one of my favorite meals. I eat almost 100% paleo and the spiralizer makes it so easy to have spaghetti-like meals but way healthier with zucchini and no grains.

I am spiralized obsessed! I’be been wanting to try a flipbelt forever.
Have a wonderful weekend Lindsay!

So much fun stuff! My grandma is coming over tomorrow – we are going to celebrate her birthday, visit with each other and the baby, and she is going to help me organize some of Williams’s clothes in his drawers since I can’t seem to keep anything organized! Haha grandmas are the best! And PinkBlush is amazing!

Aw I hope your husband’s surgery ends up going much better than the last one! And how have I missed that maternity line? So cute!
misszippy says
Cute maternity wear! You’ll look great in it when you get to the point of needing it.
Your poor husband–I hope it goes as well as possible. At least the timing is good in that it is well in advance of when he’ll need to be holding baby bean, right?

Sending prayers your way for Mr Bean’s surgery and recovery! Shoulder surgery is no fun…Been there before.
I have a spiralizer and I LOVE it. I got mine off Amazon but it looks just the same 🙂 And thanks to your picture I just realized I can store my blades UNDERNEATH! How did I not realize this before? Hehe
Love gliders! And cute maternity clothes!
Weekend plans are running race #15 and getting a 90 min massage! And getting to go to the Whole Foods that is so far away from my house that I rarely get there!
Hope your weekend is fabulous!

Loving your Friday things! The onesies are adorable! I had the exact same glider–spent many hours sleeping to a drool in that thing. You will become very accustom to swaying– I would sway in the shower, in my dreams and I still sway when I see another baby! I hope your man makes a speedy and full recovery! xoxoxo

I hope hi recovery is much better this time around. I had surgery on both of my hips for labral tears. It was rough and I was annoyed that the other had the same injury (I got the surgeries about 1 year apart)!
Great deal on the glider. Buying a glider was one of the most frustrating things when I was pregnant. I wanted something wonderful and comfortable because I knew I would be spending a lot of time in it, but I had a REALLY hard time dropping 500-1000 on a chair! Luckily a chair I had looked at for MONTHS was on super sale during a random trip to Babies R Us 🙂 have a great weekend!

Yessss I love Pink Blush too!! I though it was like my little secret maternity hot spot, but now it’s all over the place, haha. I suggest buying quickly because things sell out CRAZY fast over there!
Here’s to a speedy recovery for the hubs!!

I have the same spiralizer and I love it! One of the best purchases I’ve made-except for a few handbags and purses LOL
Donna says
I sympathize with your hubby…I also had a torn labrum that I had repaired 3 yrs ago (childhood injury)…but I recently tore it again doing a heavy thruster. Not sure I want to go through the surgery again even though I had an awesome experience with a great recovery. It felt so strong and completely better but it took one heavy thruster to put me back where I started! 🙁 Hoping for a quick and easy recovery for your hubs!
Arman @ thebigmansworld says
It would be criminal not to get those onesies!!!
Hope Mr.Bean is on the mend soon- this weekend is my birthday so I think you should swing by Australia…
Matt @ Runner Savvy says
I’m sorry to hear about the upcoming surgery!

Love the onsie!!!
I have some bread I love from Silver Hills Bakery BUT there are a few kinds only available in Canada & I want so bad! At least I can get some here! 🙂
Coco says
Oh, gosh! You can’t possibly get caught with no money for the ice cream truck! 😉 I hope things go smoothly next week, and that the recovery is much better this time.
Debbie @ Live from La Quinta says
So sorry that your husband has to go through shoulder surgery again! I hope his recovery is smoother this time around.
I love the Flipbelt! It is great for running, carries any nutrition you need, plus money (in case there is ice cream) and phone. And it doesn’t bounce.
We’re taking it easy thus weekend, in recovery mode after the Rock and Roll marathon last week. Looking forward to it.
Nicole says
I hope all goes well for your husband’s surgery!!
We just got a puppy and I have to get used to walking 2 dogs again – that means zero free hands so I’ve been carrying a little canvas bag but the belt is a great idea!
Marla-Deen says
I am normally not a commenter, but having had terrible shoulder surgery last July I had to offer my empathy. Just this past week I did my first push-up! As an exercise instructor it’s been a long road and challenging to say the least! I so feel for your hubby! (AND for you!) I hope he’s a good patient and he has a much better recovery! He is living out my fear . . . that my “good” shoulder will now go!
Take Care!
Lindsay says
awww sorry to hear you had to have the surgery as well. fingers crossed your good shoulder stays good!
