I’m back!
Today I have a special little bonus post to share with you guys. As you know, I read a lot of blogs. A LOT. And a lot of different kinds of blogs, not just fitness blogs or food blogs. One that I’ve been reading for a while now is The Shine Project. It’s written by a sweet girl named Ashley who is literally trying to change the world! Here’s a summary of what The Shine Project is all about. I have a Shine Project necklace that I wear every day and I love reading about all the awesome things Ashely is doing to make the world a better place.
{clearly not my necklace- mine is similar, but just has the two beads, plus I added an L charm that I bought on my own. I love it!}
Last week, she put out a call for bloggers to help spread the word about a new project she’s been working on. It’s called Pass it Forward. And here’s what it entails:
Pass It Forward was designed to get people to do little things, everyday, that makes an impact on the community around them. Pass it Forward is designed around a card. Each card is given a unique ID number. Lets say we’re at McDonalds, and I decide to pay for the person behind me in the drive through. I’d give the cashier the card, and tell them to pass it along to the next car when the give them the food that has been paid for. I then go home and log into the website that was on the card, and find my unique ID number. I log into it, and add my information… My first name, city, and a description of what I did….
Let’s say the person behind me was you, you would pass it forward to someone else, and then would go home and do the same thing. From the very beginning, you will be able to track where your card goes, and how many people you affect just by doing one simple act of kindness.
Here’s what the back of the cards look like:
I think this is a pretty cool project, and a great way to remind ourselves to pay it forward occasionally. This actually fits in really well with my challenge to you guys from earlier in the week to go volunteer! It was ironic that I already had that post planned for this week when Ashley contacted me about this project! Love when things come together like that
Anyways, just wanted to do my part to spread the word about this project. If you’re interested, visit Ashley’s blog today to find out more details, including how you can get a Pass it Forward card of your own!
Have a great weekend!
Lindsay

Wow, that is a GREAT idea! I love it!! It’s so true, sometimes, just a little extra compliment or something to pay it forward makes a world of difference to someone!

What a need idea! It will be great if people do take a part and log it. Kind of like Where’s George but with a kindness twist. I think its great to add a bit of random acts of kindness to our daily lives.
