Hi Friends!
It’s Monday, and it’s time for another Secret Recipe Club reveal day!
This month is was assigned to Lisa’s blog: Parsley, Sage, Desserts & Line Drives. Even though I’m not a Yankees fan, I didn’t hold that against her as I explored her blog! She’s made all sorts of cool recipes through the Daring Bakers and Daring Cooks challenges. I ended up deciding to make her Lavash Crackers.
I LOVE making my own crackers. It’s so simple and they always taste way better than store bought. Plus, I had hummus on my weekend to-do list and thought the crackers would pair perfectly.
I followed her recipe pretty much exactly, except I reduced the sugar by 1 tsp, I brushed the top with olive oil instead of water and I just used paprika, cayenne pepper and sesame seeds to season them.
I had a little trouble getting the edges thin enough so they got a little chewy instead of crispy, but I ended up just trimming them off and the other parts were perfect!
I’ve having a difficult time keeping myself from eating this whole batch in one day! The only thing I’d do differently is make a double batch next time!
Do you make your own crackers?!
Enjoy!
–Lindsay–

Oh yum. Thanks for sharing her recipe – definitely going to give that a try since it’s GF (can make it for my sister). Love how crisp lavash gets.

Haha, so lavash crackers were actually something I was thinking about making for your pen pal box this month! Ahh well, more for me
I’ve got some other ideas rolling around in my head.
I love your addition of sesame seeds. I’ve made pita chips using a middle eastern za’tar seasoning and that has sesame as well. I have a hard time keeping my hands out of the “cracker jar” with things like these too.

First off..are you a Red Sox fan?
I’m so glad you made the lavash crackers and they turned out great for you, minus thicker edges. I used a pasta roller for the dough (I hope I added that to the post,,I’ll have to check since it was so long ago). Beautifully done and great choice!
