Let’s Get Dirty!

Hi Friends!

Just popping in to tell all of you about a fun little opportunity I’m getting to take part in as a Fitfluential Ambassador! You’ve all heard of mud runs right??

I’m no stranger to mud. I spent all of my summers in high school and college working for a landscaping company. I had an entire stack of shorts and t shirts that I could only wear to that job because they were permanently caked in mud.

It was THE BEST summer job ever.

There were days when my mom made me shower with the hose in the front yard before she even let me in the house to take a shower!

So, when I heard about Fitfluential giving us the chance to do a 5k mud run I immediately expressed my interest! But this isn’t just any mud run. This is the Go Dirty Girl Mud Run!

dg Lets Get Dirty!

The highlights of this race:

It’s for GIRLS ONLY.
-That’s right- no boys allowed!-

It’s NOT TIMED.
-No pressure, just fun!-

The obstacles have FUN NAMES.
-Like Utopian Tubes & PMS (pretty muddy stuff)!-

They donate part of their proceeds TO CHARITY.
-The National Breast Cancer Foundation!-

1 Lets Get Dirty!

Pretty cool, right? This race is all about celebrating women of ALL sizes, shapes and athletic abilities! You can register as an individual or put together a team!

From the press release for the race I’m running in Indianapolis with several of my fellow Fitfluential Ambassadors:

“Dirty Girl Race Director Jimmy Gohsman, stated, “We’re excited to bring this unique event to the women of the Indianapolis area. The day will offer women of all athletic and fitness abilities a chance to get out of their comfort zones and into their giggle zones. Each obstacle is specially designed to be challenging but manageable. And we’ve got great special touches for our Dirty Girls too – like charms instead of medals, post-race pampering amenities, complimentary post-race adult beverages and music. The Dirty Girl Mud Run is truly a unique way for women to share a day of fun-filled laughter and bonding.”

A portion of all proceeds from Dirty Girl registration fees are donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. In 2011, Dirty Girls helped donate over $50,000 to help win the race against breast cancer. In each city of the 2012 tour, 250 Cancer Survivors will receive complimentary registration and special recognition.”

I love that this event is so fun and light-hearted but also benefits a good cause! I am SO excited to participate and return to my muddy roots icon smile Lets Get Dirty!

So, does this sound like fun?! Check out their website to see if they’re coming to a city near you! You can also follow Dirty Girl on Facebook or Twitter! Be sure to check out the hashtag #godirtygirl. And if you’re near Indy, come run with me on May 12th!!

Have you ever done a mud run?
